A street of struggles, unheard. Love, blossoming in a coffee shop. An argument in an empty hospice room. A single person's work, forgotten over the years. Even as we rise above the Kinta River, emotions intertwine themselves with our recollections of the past, colouring them or suppressing them entirely.

Curated and directed by theatrethreesixty's artistic director Christopher Ling, Ascent: These Memories Were Made for Walking forms a part of Kakiseni's The Other Festival, combining Food, Art and History into a single epic experience. A site-specific, fully immersive performing arts trail, Ascent is a foray into the unspoken narratives that are woven into the history and present of Ipoh, featuring original writing from playwrights Nandang Abdul Rahman and Ariff Kamil as well as an excerpt from the play, Yellow Gentlemen by Benjamin Yeoh.

Ascent: These Memories Were Made for Walking is made possible through the incredible support of Kakiseni as part of The Other Festival, Ipoh, and the Perak Society of the Performing Arts (PSPA). Please note: Ascent: These Memories Made for Walking runs for approximately an hour and walking is involved. Do wear comfortable shoes!
